The Importance of Advanced Health Checkup

Advanced Health Checkup screenings fill the gap between a simple wellness check and executive package tests. They focus on identifying areas of concern and do not include additional unnecessary tests. A blood, urine and stool test all offer different perspectives and can detect issues that a single sample test misses.

Most Complete Tests for 76 Biomarkers

Complete Blood Count (CBC) – 21 Parameters

Your blood analysis is the most detailed, examining all the different blood cellular components. Most CBC are 5-part differentiations (usually for 5 White Blood Cell (WBC) and 3 Blood Cell). Our blood analysis provides the complete picture with 21 parameters, which looks for Anemia, Nutritional Deficiencies, Infections, Bone Marrow conditions, Blood disorders, Inflammatory conditions, and Clotting Issues.

Stool Analysis – Assessment of the Gastrointestinal Health

Stool analysis is one of the most commonly overlooked assessments of health. Our stool analysis will detect parasitic infections, bacterial overgrowth, and malabsorption syndromes, as well as Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) and occult bleeding (invisible with naked eye). We will also analyze your stool for undigested food particles and abnormal content. These include abnormal fat absorption, marking adults with lactose intolerance, and others with colorectal abnormalities.

Extensive Iron Profile – More Than Just Serum Iron

Most packages only test for Iron and the intake of Iron groups. Based on the results, iron deficiency anemia seems to be the most common, chronic disease anemia is less common, and Iron overload is the least common. Our profile helps detect the most common chronic disease anemia.

In Dubai, particularly amongst women, vegetarians, and individuals with malabsorption disorders, the concern for Iron deficiency is most crucial. Not only is our profile diagnostic, but we are able to modify and/or provide early prescriptions for iron supplementation.

Diabetics Profile – Complete Glucose Metabolism Assessment

The Diabetics Profile goes beyond just fasting glucose by assessing additional markers for a thorough evaluation of the type and extent of diabetes. This panel determines the efficiency of glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, and provides a means for diabetics' early identification of pre-diabetes. Complete diabetics' profiling enables the identification of early lifestyle changes which help in the management of diabetes and its related complications.

Vitamin D Testing – The Sunshine Vitamin

Despite extreme weather and abundant sunshine in the UAE, a lifestyle of staying indoors, conservative dress codes, and the use of AC in shops has resulted in a large proportion of UAE residents exhibiting Vitamin D deficiency with some studies reporting it as high as 80%. The predominant form of Vitamin D in the blood is 25-hydroxyvitamin D and its measurement aids in the improvement of bone and immune health and absorption of calcium.

Optimal levels of vitamin D result in less susceptibility to infections, improved mental health, and a lower occurrence of chronic diseases. Supplementation aids in improvement of bone health and improved mental health.

Vitamin B12 Analysis – Neurological and Hematological Guardian

Pernicious anemia, irreversible nerve damage, cognitive impairment, chronic fatigue, and digestive problems indicate a health issue of serious concern. Deficiency of vitamin B12, a water-soluble vitamin found in many animal products, should be considered, especially in the case of vegetarians, and elderly individuals, as well as in those with absorption issues of the gastro-intestinal system.

Measuring vitamin B12 determines and enables supplementation of the deficiency prior to the onset of the irreversible nerve damage. B12 testing and analysis are employed to correctly treat its various types, and also to distinguish among the iron-deficiency anemias.

Kidney Function Panel – Renal Health Monitoring

We assess the major components of the Kidney Function Panel to get the overall functioning of your kidneys. This includes Creatinine, Blood Urea Nitrogen, Electrolyte Balance, and the Glomerular Filtration Rate. The components of this panel evaluate your kidneys' ability to get rid of the body's waste, maintain fluid levels, and control blood levels. Considering the climate and risks of dehydration in Dubai, we look to monitor kidney function to catch early signs of issues.

Lipid Profile – Cardiovascular Risk Stratification

Your complete cholesterol panel consists of assessing your constituents to your total cholesterol, cholesterol, harmful LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and cholesterol ratio levels. The outcomes of this panel assess and estimate your risks and probability of having a heart attack or stroke. The outcome of this panel helps us and your health care practitioner to supervise your risks and hypertension through diet, exercise or medication. This panel provides an overview on your current health and identifies dyslipidemia.

Liver Function Tests – Hepatic Health Evaluation

This panel consists of assessing the levels of the liver enzymes, we look at ALT, AST, alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin, and protein levels to measure and evaluate liver health. Through this panel, we monitor for indications of fatty liver, liver disease, medication toxicity or conditions that block bile ducts. This panel has gained interest in response to the increasing prevalence of obesity, Metabolic syndrome, and liver disease in the UAE.

Urine Analysis – Kidney and Metabolic Screening

We look at the physical and chemical elements and components that are found through a total analysis of your urine. This simple test detects kidney function and evaluates the metabolic function of the body. It looks to identify conditions including kidney stones, urinary tract infections, indicators of dehydration, and protein loss. This test helps to catch early signs of issues that affect your kidney function and your metabolic health.

Triple-Sample Collection Protocol

Robust Sample Collection Standard

One of the components of the Advanced Health Checkup involves a home collection visit with three sample types collected concurrently:

Blood Sample

Blood collection requires a fasting duration of 8-10 hours. Fasting ensures accurate Glucose and Lipid level readings. There will be minimal to no discomfort and the blood collection will be done in a matter of minutes using sterile techniques.

Urine Sample:

As the first morning urine specimen is the most concentrated, samples are to be collected using sterile urine collection vials. Our team ensures thorough instructions are provided to collect the optimum specimen.

Stool Sample:

A stool specimen of the requisite amount will be collected using the sterile specimen bottle and collection apparatus provided. Our instructions will keep you informed of best collection practices while dealing with the greatest dignity.

This regimen requires you to fast for no less than 8 hours and no more than 10 hours. During the 8–10 hour fast, avoid alcohol and consumption of any fats while refraining from physical exertion immediately before the specimen is collected. When you check in, our patient care coordinators will do an elaboration of your regimen.

Home Visit Sample Collection

Our collection team will come to your designated location to collect the samples. The collection is done in under 15 minutes and your samples will be collected, labeled, and preserved. The samples will be collected and shipped to the lab using a temperature controlled mode.

Frequently asked questions

What vitamins does Advanced Health Checkup cover?

With Advanced Health Checkup, we check your Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 levels. Most people in Dubai are low in Vitamin D even with all the sun. And if you are vegan, vegetarian, or over 50, your B12 might be low. Both cause tiredness and brain fog.

How is Advanced Health Checkup different from Basic Health Checkup?

Basic Health Checkup covers 55 markers with blood and urine. Advanced Health Checkup covers 76 markers with blood, urine, and stool. Advanced also adds Vitamin D, B12, a full iron check, and better diabetes testing. Get Advanced if you feel run down but basic tests come back normal.

My basic blood tests were fine but I am still exhausted. Will this help?

Yes. Basic tests miss Vitamin D, B12, and iron problems. They also miss gut issues that stop you from absorbing nutrients. You could be eating well but your gut is not keeping the nutrients. Advanced catches what basic misses.

What do I get after the results?

Not just a PDF. Our clinical pathologist reviews all 76 markers together before you see anything. Then you get a free call with a DHA doctor who explains what the results mean and tells you what to do next. No one leaves you guessing.

When will I get my results?

Within 24 hours. We process your three samples fast because we work with Intel Lab, a Dubai accredited lab since 2001. Your results are emailed to you. Then you get your free doctor call to go over everything.
